Dr Vishakha  Karpe is a competent Senior Pediatric Neurosurgeon at Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. She is one of the leading pediatric neurosurgeons in India and also one of the very few neurosurgeons in India who work extensively in the field of pediatric neurosurgery. She has a vast experience in pediatric neurosurgery over the past 11 years. She has performed more than 3000 neurosurgeries, of which approximately 1500 are exclusive pediatric neurosurgeries. In her diverse experience, she has treated a variety of pediatric neurosurgical conditions successfully. 

She believes in comprehensive care of patients, including not only precise surgery but the involvement of the multidisciplinary team. She also educates the parents of the patient about the complete case management protocols (perioperative treatment plan & care after surgery, etc), and the strategies to improve patients quality of life.

Education :

She completed her MBBS from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. 

Further, she attained D.N.B. General Surgery postgraduation, awarded by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. She gained basic neurosurgical experience from the esteemed institution AIIMS, New Delhi.

Later, she did MCh superspecialisation in neurosurgery from a prestigious and one of the oldest institutes, IPGMER &SSKM hospital, Kolkata. 

She also became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh (U.K.) after clearing the international exam.
She upgraded her knowledge and skills by completing a fellowship in neuroendoscopy from the well-known neuroendoscopy fellowship program at Jabalpur,  and gained advanced skills. 

As a dedicated pediatric neurosurgeon, she continuously updates her expertise through conferences, workshops, and observerships to deliver the highest standard of care to her patients. Recently, She completed an observership program  at the esteemed Necker–Enfants Malades Hospital, Paris, Europe’s largest pediatric neurosurgery center. This observership has equipped her with cutting-edge protocols in pediatric neurosurgery, directly benefiting her patients through refined techniques in conditions like craniosynostosis corrective surgeries, spinal dysraphism management, pediatric brain tumor management.
